Operation Perfection - Do the next right thing!
June 2nd, 2006
I thank God for this opportunity to present His Word and I'm very excited about this message. Have you ever gotten so fed up of the Christian roller coaster ride that you decided to do something serious about it? Well, I've done that several times and right now I'm doing it again. I used to put pressure on myself to be perfect because I considered my life as an example for the young people around me. If I could get it right, they could get it right. If I could make the correct decisions they could make the correct decisions. Then I stopped caring. Who cares about perfection when Jesus was the only perfect man? My righteousness is all rubbish when compared to the righteousness that comes by faith through Christ! Well, I was correct. There was nothing I could do to make myself any more righteous than I already was in the eyes of God because I was clothed in Jesus Christ. However, a strange thing happened. My lack of discipline got me into trouble. Areas of my life where I had complete self control became areas of weakness. Challenges that I would usually conquer became difficult. Temptations that I would never consider became more enticing. In other words, even though I was supposed to be in Christ, my life looked nothing like Christ. As a result, it didn't matter what I claimed concerning the goodness of Christ, if I didn't discipline my life I was not going to reap the earthly benefits of righteous living. Therefore, yesterday I decided that I was going to return to my old frame of mind. I'm going to mimic Christ. If He was perfect then that's what I'm doing. I made a deal with one of my friends and we officially launched, "Operation Perfection- Do the next right thing!" Directions for Operation Perfection - Do the next right thing! 1 Obey the Bible!
This project has a simple foundation. Obey the Bible! If the Bible says something is right then that's what we're doing. If the Bible says that it's wrong then that's what we're not doing. We want no lame excuses about our humanity! If we can make a decision to do wrong then we can make a decision to do right. Of course we need a proper understanding of what the scripture is saying and the context of each statement before we go off on a tangent. It's not a sin for women to wear make up and all of that doctrinal confusion that people take from Paul's directions to a specific group of people. However, anything that is well documented all over the Bible as correct, we're doing it. 2 Control your environment!
I know we believe that Jesus Christ did it all. He sure did. However, we won't get to enjoy it all if we don't live like Him. I don't care what anyone tells you, if you live like the devil and claim Christianity you will not see the benefits of Christianity. Believe me, it doesn't work. Your mind will only give out what you put into it. The more rubbish you place in it, the more foolish decisions you'll make. Every foolish decision I have made is a direct result of some rubbish I looked at, read or heard. You don't make mistakes, you make wrong decisions. Walking into a glass wall is a mistake, deciding to disobey God is not. 3 Pay attention when God speaks through His leaders!
This one is for me too. God has appointed certain people to help us attain a state of perfection. However, unless we believe it's possible we'll never try. I'm usually a very skeptical individual. I never accept what someone else says unless they can prove it in the Bible. Therefore, I ask you to do the same. If you hear something from a Christian leader and you're sure it's in the Bible, do it. If your pastor says to stop drinking that whisky and he shows you some scriptures to support it then stop drinking that whisky. If a man of God tells you that you need to stop cussing and it's in the Bible then control your tongue. This list can go on forever but this is enough for us to have a good start. It's important for us to admit that when we don't do what's right we don't get what's right in our lives. It's quite simple. It's our responsibility to do our best and wherever we lack, Christ makes up the difference.
We're supposed to imitate Christ so if He was perfect as a human being and we have his mind, why can't we do the same? The process is really not that difficult. We study the scriptures to find out what is right. We control our environment so we can think right. We listen to the leaders as they teach us what is right. Then we take life one decision at a time. Nobody is asking you to do everything right. All we want you to do is the next thing right. Make the next right decision. We don't care about tomorrow's decision right now. We only care about the next one. Life is a marathon. If you want to finish you have to set short term goals. Make it to the next tree. Make it to the next corner. Make it to the next house. Make the next step. Do the next right thing and watch God revolutionize your life. My friend and I are taking the challenge. She is believing for a massive financial increase, a great personal ministry, business and a boost for her career. I am believing that my book will sell millions and God will settle my personal life. What do you want? Give God a chance to be your hero. I'm jumping off the Christian roller coaster ride. One day I win, next day I lose. One day I'm a hero, next day I'm a fool. I want to win all the time just like my big brother from 2000 years ago. I want to be like Jesus. Join me in "Operation Perfection" as we do the next right thing!

WOW...This is my Heart...I get so fed up sometimes being on a see-saw, but it’s really time for us as believers to get violent in the spirit and radical in our faith... if the unbelievers could be so bold in what they stand for, why can't we be bold in our faith and stand on nothing else but the Word of God...NO COMPROMISE, NO PROCRASTINATION, NO EXCUSES...WARRIORS FOR CHRIST...and as warriors, let us hold on till the end.
Your fellow warrior in Christ, Amy.

Just today I realized .....uh I think I am letting myself drift backward to the "old me" NOPE......Not an option....if I am determined to put on the "new me" Can keep changing clothes in mid stream---I won't ever leave the house that way. No more excuses...No more second guessing, No more debating the countless reasons why not and maybe not, and probably nots. Only definates, next right thing....faithful of the few...becomes ruler over many....! I am believing for FEARLESS CONFIDENCE in every area! This is a great article! I really needed to read this!

Great article, I'm also sick and tired of making lame excuses for being on the Christian roller coaster. It's time to put on the armor of Christ and stand against the wiles of the devil.
