The Spirit Of Wisdom And Revelation

The Spirit of Counsel

THE SPIRIT OF WISDOM AND REVELATION

Ephesians 1:15-19(NKJV) - Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation. Hence, in agreement with James 1:5, if The Holy Spirit is a free gift from God, so is supernatural wisdom. In fact, The Apostle John said in 1 John 2:20&27 that as long as The Holy Spirit lives inside of you, there is nothing that you do not know. In other words, you are never without access to answers and insight whenever you’re in need. However, The Apostle Paul explained how you can actually profit from the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation who already lives inside of every Christian.

It comes from your knowledge of Jesus Christ. The more you develop your relationship with God, the more accessible His wisdom becomes to you. The more time you spend intimately communicating with Him, the more you will know what to do in difficult situations. Yes, He’ll always grant you wisdom when you need it but if you don’t know Him you won’t recognize His wisdom or trust it. As a result, it won’t benefit you even though it’s staring you in the face. Make a decision today to get to know God through His Word, His Spirit and His people then “brace yourself” for supernatural wisdom and revelation.

Receiving Direction From The Holy Spirit Within

Receiving Direction From The Holy Spirit Within

Romans 8:10-11(NKJV) - And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

The Holy Spirit’s residence inside of your body is supposed to do more than affect your spiritual life. His purpose extends beyond renewing your spirit in preparation for eternity with God. It also extends beyond merely instilling confidence in you that God is there. He can also breathe life into your mortal body and enable you with capabilities that are beyond human limitations.

His presence alone means that the usual decay and corruption found in all humanity due to the curse of Adam’s sin should no longer affect you. He can make you immune to all sicknesses, diseases, accidents, sudden disasters, plagues and attacks. Like your white blood cells, He can repel any plan of the enemy to bring you down in the natural realm.

Conversely, as stated in Hosea 4:6, the people of God are continually destroyed because they lack this knowledge. His people refuse to accept the immunity provided by The Holy Spirit because they cannot seem to believe it. What will you do today?

Will you allow Him to quicken your mortal body in any area where death has tried to overtake it? Will you believe what Jesus said in John 6:63 and let His “Spirit Words” put life inside of you? Let your mind be controlled by The Holy Spirit and you’ll have life and peace.

The Voice Of The Spirit

Trusting God's Voice

John 10:27(KJV) - My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

Isaiah 30:21(NLT) - Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, "This is the way you should go," whether to the right or to the left.

Ever wondered why certain Christians always seem to know what to do? For some reason, their lives keep moving onward and upward regardless of the trends in society. Well, they have become proficient in recognizing and obeying The Voice of The Spirit. While others figure their way out through life these individuals receive supernatural directions that lead them along the right path. Are you interested in joining this elite group? Start by learning God’s voice through His Word everyday and communicating verbally with Him through prayer. Then obey whatever you read and hear. Now here’s the fun part.

The Holy Spirit directs you like a GPS device. You can't remain on the right path day by day if you zoom out too much and try to see God's entire plan for your life. The big picture is fine but unless you do what you need to do now it won't matter what the big picture says. He knows what's coming next and can see around corners. He knows what you need and will ensure that your path includes everything that's necessary. He can tell if you're moving at the right pace and will inform you when it's time to slow down. If you get off the path, He can re-calculate the route and get you right back where you need to be. He knows the big picture so if you trust Him, you can focus your attention on what you must do next. Try it today and see how it works.

The Language Of The Spirit

The Mystery of Tongues

1 Corinthians 14:1-5(NKJV) - Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men. He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification.

Of all the spiritual gifts, The Apostle Paul told us to desire prophecy. However, he purposefully coupled that with a teaching on speaking in tongues and interpretation. This is important because the point he made cannot be lost in any debate on the legitimacy of speaking in tongues. We are supposed to speak in tongues because it builds us up and by it we speak mysteries to God in a language only He understands. However, we should also prophesy because by it we edify others. One should not be separated from the other and neither should be rejected.

The gift of tongues came with the gift of The Holy Spirit in The Upper Room on The Day of Pentecost. It is quite similar to the gift of prophecy because it is an expression of heavenly wisdom through the mouth of a human being. The only difference is that God alone understands it. Even though that’s enough for your personal situation, it helps if you can interpret it for your understanding and to build someone else up. Just like The Apostle Paul, I wish that the entire Body of Christ spoke with tongues but even more that we all prophesied. If you want it for yourself, just ask for it and The Father will give it to you.

Luke 11:13(NKJV) - If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

The Free Gift Of The Holy Spirit

The Free Gift Of The Holy Spirit

Luke 11:13(KJV) - If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

On The Day of Pentecost, The Holy Spirit was made available to all who desire. Therefore, all you have to do is ask. In John 14:17, Jesus prophesied of the day when The Holy Spirit would no longer live among men but live within them. The Apostle Paul then said in 1 Corinthians 3:16 that The Holy Spirit lives within every Christian. However, until the Spirit within you is allowed to overwhelm and affect your natural life you are living below your full potential.

In the same way that The Apostle Paul described salvation and righteousness by faith in Jesus Christ as a free gift in Romans 4:15-18, Jesus described The Holy Spirit. Therefore, after you receive salvation just by asking for it, The Holy Spirit can fill you up if you ask for it. That’s exactly what the early church did in Acts 4:29-31 when they needed special boldness to preach the gospel. Instead of running scared from the persecution they faced, they simply asked God for His power and He responded by filling them with His Holy Spirit. If you ask, He will do the same for you.

Meditate on Acts 4:23-31

Acts 4:23-31(NKJV) - And being let go, they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them. 24 So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said: “Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them, 25 who by the mouth of Your servant David have said: ‘Why did the nations rage, And the people plot vain things? 26 The kings of the earth took their stand, And the rulers were gathered together Against the Lord and against His Christ.’ 27 “For truly against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together 28 to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose determined before to be done. 29 Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, 30 by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.” 31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

The Spirit Of Truth

Receiving The Spirit Of Truth

RECEIVING THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH

John 16:13(KJV) - Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

The Apostle Paul said in Romans 3:4; “Let God be true, but every man a liar.” After being deceived by men throughout your life I'm sure you now agree with that statement. Therefore, since God is true, wouldn't it be important to understand what He has to say about anything you face in life? The first step to doing so is reading your Bible. There is absolutely no situation that you will face in life that is not addressed directly or indirectly in The Bible. However, a problem arises when you don't know where to look.

That problem is solved when you receive The Holy Spirit as The Spirit of Truth. He guides your Biblical meditation and gives you supernatural understanding of all you study. When a situation arises He then helps you to remember the relevant scriptures you have already studied. Lastly, He shows you how they apply to your current situation and empowers you to do what it says. If you haven't done so already, receive The Holy Spirit as The Spirit of Truth and see what happens in your life.

Meditate on John 14:26 and John 16:5-15

John 14:26(KJV) - But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Receive The Comfort Of The Holy Ghost

Receive The Comfort Of The Holy Ghost

EMBRACING THE COMFORTER

John 14:26(KJV) - But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

When life is especially hard or you encounter difficult challenges, the consolation of The Holy Ghost can keep you moving forward. He has all the authority of Jesus because He has come in His name. So there is nothing that Jesus did while He was on the earth that the Holy Ghost cannot do for you right now. He is a healer just like Jesus. He has supernatural wisdom just like Jesus. He can work any miracle necessary just like Jesus. In fact, He is The Anointing that made Jesus, The Christ.

With that understanding, begin each day by embracing The Comforter. Acknowledge His presence in your life and give Him credit for what He does on your behalf. As long as He remains in existence His role as The Comforter will be active. Therefore, you can safely assume that you will never be without comfort for eternity. He will teach you how to see life through His eyes and will remind you of the hope that is found in Jesus.

Meditate on John 14:16-26

John 14:16-26(KJV) - And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Boldness

Boldness

THE SPIRIT OF BOLDNESS

Luke 10:19 (AMP) - Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you.

Acts 1:8(AMP) - But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth.

The King James Version uses the same word, "power" to describe what Jesus gave us in Luke 10:19 to defeat the enemy and what He in Acts 1:8 said the Holy Spirit will give us to preach the gospel. However, they are not the same. The power we have over the enemy is "Exousia" which is authority, hence all we have to do is speak to him in the name of Jesus and all the forces of hell must obey. On the other hand, the power we get from The Holy Spirit coming upon us is "Dunamis" which is ability and might. That's important because all Christians have "Exousia" power since it comes only by the name of Jesus. Hence we can pray for the sick, cast out demons and make declarations against the enemy.

However, until The Holy Spirit empowers us with "Dunamis" we will remain scared to death to tell our co-workers about Jesus. Isn't that amazing? It's not the same. As bold as we are in church stamping on the enemy and laying hands on people we assume we can translate that into preaching the gospel to people we meet on the streets. Well, have you ever tried that? My goodness, its easier for most of us to command the enemy to get out of our lives than to just tell a human being we don't know that Jesus loves them. It's easier to wage war against a spiritual enemy than to show love to a human. It's easier to bind principalities and powers than to be witnesses for Jesus. We all already have "Exousia" but for those of us who want boldness to spread this gospel, let's ask The Holy Spirit for "Dunamis."
