Lean on God's Wisdom

Lean on God's Wisdom
Lean on God's Wisdom

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. - Proverbs 3:5-6(NKJV)

When we’re busy or dealing with urgent matters it’s easy to forget to ask God for direction. It’s easy to rely on experience, intelligence, relationships, research and anything else we can trust when we need quick solutions. However, God alone controls the future and He knows exactly how our present decisions affect our future. That’s why it’s wise to stop whatever we are doing and lean on His infinite wisdom. If you think His answer to your prayer is irrelevant to your situation, think again. As the saying goes, He’s playing chess while you are playing checkers. While you’re focused on what He’s doing in one area, He’s focused on where each move fits into His grand scheme for the entire board.

King David, at the height of his success as a military leader still took the time to ask God for wisdom before his greatest battles. Jesus, amid the most successful ministry to ever manifest on earth, took the time to get away to pray and receive instructions from His Heavenly Father. Prayer should be a lifestyle for every Christian. Even the simplest decisions in our lives require God’s wisdom. We don’t know if what seems to be the right answer now is really the wrong answer in the end. Some decisions make complete sense based on our limited perspective but when we see through God’s eyes, they make no sense at all. Thankfully, God knows what we need to do. If we dare to pray, He will show us how and when to do what’s right so that the results we achieve are favorable.
