War In The Spirit

War In The Spirit

2 Corinthians 10:3-6(NKJV) - For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

If you fully grasp the main scripture for today your approach to every fight you face in your life will change. As a human being you exist in the natural realm and are proficient in its operation. You don't have to consciously respond to anything according to your flesh. You just act first and think later. Sadly, those decisions give you instant satisfaction but long term regret. Maybe it's time to establish a warfare strategy that is completely spiritual. So every time a thought, attitude or argument arises that opposes The Spirit of God you cast it down.

When your thoughts are captive to the obedience of Christ your actions will reflect them. Many have been taught from the passage cited above that The Apostle Paul was only referring to spiritual warfare as prayer and prophetic declarations against the enemy. That's not true because he consistently referred to ungodly mindsets and thinking patterns as the real enemy in this case. The strongholds here are attitudes and thoughts which oppose God. When people believe what is wrong you can't help them by arguing, you have to allow The Spirit of The Lord to direct your words. You will then wage spiritual warfare against the deception of the enemy by speaking the truth of God in love.
