The Free Gift Of The Holy Spirit

The Free Gift Of The Holy Spirit

Luke 11:13(KJV) - If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

On The Day of Pentecost, The Holy Spirit was made available to all who desire. Therefore, all you have to do is ask. In John 14:17, Jesus prophesied of the day when The Holy Spirit would no longer live among men but live within them. The Apostle Paul then said in 1 Corinthians 3:16 that The Holy Spirit lives within every Christian. However, until the Spirit within you is allowed to overwhelm and affect your natural life you are living below your full potential.

In the same way that The Apostle Paul described salvation and righteousness by faith in Jesus Christ as a free gift in Romans 4:15-18, Jesus described The Holy Spirit. Therefore, after you receive salvation just by asking for it, The Holy Spirit can fill you up if you ask for it. That’s exactly what the early church did in Acts 4:29-31 when they needed special boldness to preach the gospel. Instead of running scared from the persecution they faced, they simply asked God for His power and He responded by filling them with His Holy Spirit. If you ask, He will do the same for you.

Meditate on Acts 4:23-31

Acts 4:23-31(NKJV) - And being let go, they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them. 24 So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said: “Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them, 25 who by the mouth of Your servant David have said: ‘Why did the nations rage, And the people plot vain things? 26 The kings of the earth took their stand, And the rulers were gathered together Against the Lord and against His Christ.’ 27 “For truly against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together 28 to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose determined before to be done. 29 Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, 30 by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.” 31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
