Special Weekend Video - Get Your Harvest

A few weeks ago we received a testimony from the wife of a prominent Atlanta Christian rap artist. She told us that someone from our local church gave them a DVD of this message and it really blessed their lives. They watched it over and over during a crucial season and The Lord spoke to them in a way that they really needed at the time. We released this over a year ago but we're replaying it this weekend for those who really need to hear it. If you saw it already, see it again. 🙂

If you've ever sown any type of seed into God's Kingdom, this message is for you.

Mark 4:26-29(KJV) - And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.

The Freedom Of The Spirit

The Freedom Of The Spirit

2 Corinthians 3:17(NLT) - For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

Are you in bondage right now? Maybe it’s psychological bondage, like an addiction of any type. What about emotional bondage like a toxic relationship, fear or depression? Maybe you’re in spiritual bondage because of some curse. Well, today’s message is for you. Do you know that the presence of The Holy Spirit within means that you are already free from every type of bondage? That’s right! The enemy’s plan is to deceive you into believing that you are bound to something when in reality you’re free. As a result, he wants you to be like one of those slaves in The West who remained on the plantation after slavery was completely abolished.

Wherever The Spirit of The Lord is there is freedom and if you are a Christian, He lives in you. Jesus had The Spirit of The Lord upon Him and because of that, He claimed in Luke 4:16-21 that He could provide freedom to anyone in captivity. He then went to the cross, died, stormed hell, took the keys and came back to life with it according to Revelation 1:17-19. So if the same Spirit which raised Christ from the dead lives in you and comes upon you like on The Day of Pentecost, your freedom must manifest. Your deliverance from anything takes place the instant you accept it but your recovery will take time. That’s fine. Get your deliverance now and begin your process of recovery.

Ask Donnell: Does The Bible Really Address Cross-Dressing?

Ask Donnell: Does The Bible Really Address Cross-Dressing?

We received the following question from Roshawn;

Good day Donnell,

"I have a question about what is a man’s and a women’s garment. Some people adhere to this as it is written in Deut 22:5. Was it in those times a man’s garment was different? and in what context was it meant?"

Roshawn, you brought up a very interesting question. Yes, there are men's clothing and women's clothing in every society I have ever been exposed to throughout history. It's true that the distinctions vary with each culture but the point is that there are distinctions. In other words, it doesn't matter who you are or where you're from, there is such a thing as men's clothing and women's clothing.

After checking out the scripture I couldn't help but think about the issue of cross-dressing that's greatly increased where we are in the city of Atlanta, GA. Men are trying to look like women and women are trying to look like men. In fact, many are no longer trying, they are quite successful. It got so bad at my alma mater, Morehouse College, that they had to institute a dress code to stop guys from walking around campus in dresses. Since your question is specifically about Deuteronomy 22:5, let's start with the scripture.

Deuteronomy 22:5(NKJV) - “A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the Lord your God.

In these times we are living you have to be very careful what you say. In our society what's wrong seems right and what's right seems wrong. If you remain neutral you're safe because that way, you can never offend anyone with a differing opinion. However, if The Church becomes obsessed with winning a popularity contest in the eyes of the world instead of pleasing God we will be held accountable for eternity. Since I don't want that for my own life I'll give it to you straight. Here's what I found out from my research.

1) Adam Clarke's Commentary

[The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man]

"Kliy geber" , the instruments or arms of a man. Since the word geber is here used, which properly signifies a strong man or man of war, it is very probable that armour is here intended; especially as we know that in the worship of Venus, to which that of Astarte or Ashtaroth among the Canaanites bore a striking resemblance, the women were accustomed to appear in armour before her. It certainly cannot mean a simple change in dress, whereby the men might pass for women, and vice versa.

This would have been impossible in those countries where the dress of the sexes had but little to distinguish it, and where every man wore a long beard. It is, however a very good general precept understood literally, and applies particularly to those countries where the dress alone distinguishes between the male and the female. The close-shaved gentleman may at any time appear like a woman in the female dress, and the woman appear as a man in the male's attire. Were this to be tolerated in society, it would produce the greatest confusion. Clodius, who dressed himself like a woman that he might mingle with the Roman ladies in the feast of the Bona Dea, was universally execrated.

2) Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown Commentary

The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man.

Disguises were assumed at certain times in pagan temples. Maimonides ('More Nevochim.,' pars iii., cap. xii.) mentions that a man attired in a coloured female dress, in honour of Venus, Ashtaroth, or Astarte, and a woman equipped in armour, worshipped at the shrine of the statue of Mars, (see also Spencer, 'Do Legibus Hebraeorum,' lib. i., cap. v., xi.)

The old Asiatics, when they engaged in the worship of Ashtaroth, were accustomed, according to Philocorus, quoted by Townley (in his edition of Maimonides, note 33), to exchange the male and female dresses. In fact, all idolators confounded the sexes of their deities-representing them sometimes as male, at other times as female; and hence, their worshippers, male and female, fell gradually into the custom, which became extensively prevalent, of changing their attire in adaptation to the sex of a particular divinity. (See many instances adduced by Young, 'Idol. Corruptions in Religion,' vol. i., pp. 97-105.)

It is probable that a reference was made to unbecoming levities practiced in common life. They were properly forbidden; for the adoption of the habiliments of the one sex by the other is an outrage on decency, obliterates the distinctions of nature by fostering softness and effeminacy in the man, impudence and boldness in the woman, as well as levity and hypocrisy in both; and, in short, opens the door to an influx of so many evils, that all who wear the dress of another sex are pronounced "an abomination unto the Lord."

3) IVP Bible Background Commentary

Transvestism in the ancient Near East.

Just as clothing served as a status marker in the ancient world, it also distinguished gender. In classical contexts, cross-dressing occurred in the theater, where women were not allowed to perform, and was also an aspect of homosexual practice. Most instances in which cross-dressing or transvestism are mentioned in ancient Near Eastern texts are *cultic or legal in nature.

For instance, when the *Ugaritic hero *Aqhat is murdered, his sister Paghat puts on a male garment under her female robes in order to assume the role of blood avenger in the absence of a male relative. An *Assyrian wisdom text contains a dialogue between husband and wife who propose to exchange their clothing and thus assume each other’s gender roles. This may be a *fertility rite or perhaps a part of a religious drama honoring a goddess.

It may be this association with other religions that made transvestism an “abomination” in Deuteronomy, but the issue may also be the blurring of gender distinctions. *Hittite texts use gender-related objects as well as clothing in a number of magical rites used to influence one’s sexual status or diminish or alter the gender status of an adversary. The objects of the female were mirror and distaff; those of the male, various weapons.

As you can see, there's more to this law about cross-dressing than meets the eye. Many people who engage in cross-dressing in our modern culture probably have no idea of the occult roots of that practice. They probably think it's fun or even justifiable because they're homosexual and that's now become an accepted practice in our culture. However, it originated as a sign of worship to Ashtaroth and Venus. Somehow, the blurring of gender lines fed into the perversity of these cults. It's unfortunate that out of ignorance those who engage in the practice are paying homage to demons. Here's how The Apostle Paul outlines the genesis of such perversion.

Romans 1:18-28(NLT) - But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness.[i] 19 They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. 20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. 21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. 22 Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. 23 And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles. 24 So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. 25 They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. 26 That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. 27 And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved. 28 Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done.

When people reject the truth they inadvertently accept lies. If we don't accept God for who He truly is we won't care about the standards He set for us. In Deuteronomy 22:5, God was addressing an issue that continues to exist thousands of years later. In sum, cross-dressing is not about having fun or free expression. It's not about choice. It's not even about being a homosexual and expecting everyone else to accept the lifestyle. It's about blending gender lines which is a slap in the face of God as the creator.

Genesis 1:27(KJV) - So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

God had specific intentions when He created genders and we should respect that. He wanted to differentiate men from women because that's how He created us. God's character and beauty are expressed differently in each gender. Therefore, when we all operate according to how we are created we all give God glory. If we don't respect how God created us we don't respect God and if we don't respect God there's someone else ready and waiting to control our lives.

1 Samuel 2:30(KJV) - Wherefore the Lord God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the Lord saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

The Witness of The Spirit

Dimensions Of The Holy Spirit

Romans 8:15-17(NKJV) - For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

Have you ever wondered about the status of your Christianity? Have you ever had days that went so wrong that you questioned where you stood with God? I’ve been there before and it’s the presence of The Holy Spirit that eliminates all doubt. I know we’re supposed to stand on The Word of God. I know we’re supposed to believe God just based on what He said. I also know that we should never judge anything based on how we feel. Still, the presence of The Holy Spirit alone sometimes gives us the confirmation we need when we forget who we are.

It’s His presence you sense when you walk into a church service after crying all night and your spirit is instantly lifted. It’s His presence you sense when you burst into tears with relief the moment you hear an anointed song of worship. It’s His presence that lets you know you are loved. He reminds you of your worth from within your heart whenever your spirit is broken and you feel like giving up. When you can’t remember the words to say, who to call and don’t know what to do cultivate His presence and change your atmosphere.

Ask Donnell - Is Pleading The Blood of Jesus Biblical?

Ask Donnell - Is Pleading The Blood of Jesus Biblical?

We received the following question from Jemma;

"Is pleading the Blood of Jesus Biblical?"

Interesting question... very interesting. Before I answer the question, let me first share with the readers another interesting tidbit. My mother is Apostle Jemma Duncan and she answered this exact question some time ago on her radio broadcast, "Ask Pastor Jemma". It comes on every Friday at 3:00 PM (2:00 PM ET due to daylight savings in Atlanta) on Isaac 98.1 FM. Forgive me if I am a bit amused by all the many varied connections here. I know my mom is reading this so "Hi Mom". 🙂

Let's get back to business. Is pleading The Blood of Jesus Biblical? Well, it depends on what the phrase actually means. I grew up Pentecostal so most of the times I heard it being used the context was spiritual warfare. People use "The Blood of Jesus" the same way they use "The Name of Jesus", "The Power of The Holy Ghost" and "The Word of God". These are weapons that are pulled out by Christians to fight against the enemy at any point in time.

When we say "in The Name of Jesus" we mean "in the authority of Jesus" based on Mark 16:17-18 and Acts 16:18. We say "by The Power of The Holy Ghost" similar to Zechariah 4:6 and Romans 15:19. We say "by the power of The Word of God" based on Romans 1:16 and Hebrews 4:12. Now, when we say "by The Blood of Jesus", here's what we mean.

Exodus 12:21-24(NLT) - Then Moses called all the elders of Israel together and said to them, “Go, pick out a lamb or young goat for each of your families, and slaughter the Passover animal. Drain the blood into a basin. Then take a bundle of hyssop branches and dip it into the blood. Brush the hyssop across the top and sides of the doorframes of your houses. And no one may go out through the door until morning. For the Lord will pass through the land to strike down the Egyptians. But when he sees the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe, the Lord will pass over your home. He will not permit his death angel to enter your house and strike you down. “Remember, these instructions are a permanent law that you and your descendants must observe forever.

Hebrews 9:11-14(KJV) - But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

How powerful is The Blood of Jesus? It will save your life. The blood of a lamb or young goat saved the lives of God's people when the death angel was released in Egypt. It was a sign of what would happen when Jesus' blood would be shed on Calvary. Since we no longer need animal sacrifices now that Jesus Christ has become our ultimate sacrifice how can the law instituted in Egypt be observed forever? With words! Every day we can declare the application of The Blood of Jesus to everything in our lives and the enemy knows that he has to stay away.

Revelation 12:10-11(KJV) - And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

The Blood of the Lamb is used as a weapon against the enemy in this scripture. Therefore, whenever we're prompted by The Holy Ghost to pull this one out we are free to do so. The Bible says that when The Blood of Jesus is combined with The Word of our testimony we have what we need to overcome the enemy. Believe me, if we're going to defeat the enemy we need to use any weapon we can get our hands on and The Blood of Jesus is on the list. Now let's get a better understanding of the power of The Blood of Jesus.

Ephesians 2:13(KJV) - But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

It's The Blood of Jesus running in our spiritual veins which makes us part of God's family. Without it we would remain outsiders. Families are connected by the blood in their veins. We're only a family because of The Blood of Jesus.

Hebrews 9:14(KJV) - How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

When was the last time you did something wrong? It's The Blood of Jesus that cleaned your conscience. If it wasn't for His Blood you would still be feeling guilty for your sin even after God forgave you. Glory to God for a clean conscience.

Hebrews 10:19(KJV) - Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

Do you think The Father would let any of us into His presence without Jesus? Nope! It's The Blood of Jesus which gives us access to God's throne. When The Father sees The Blood of Jesus upon us He accepts us in His presence the same way He accepts Jesus.

1 John 1:7(KJV) - But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

It's The Blood of Jesus that cleanses us from all unrighteousness. Nothing else works. Without His Blood we would still be sinners on our way to an eternity in hell. Thank you Jesus for your blood.

Revelation 1:5-6(KJV) - And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Revelation 5:9-10(KJV) - And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

What is man that God is mindful of us? It's only after we were washed by The Blood of Jesus that we were elevated to the status of kings and priests unto God. No Blood of Jesus, no royalty and no priesthood for any of us.

In sum, pleading The Blood of Jesus might be a phrase that's been lost in tradition. However, the only part that's ever under debate is the word "pleading". The Blood of Jesus is where the power is at. If you don't understand why people plead The Blood of Jesus you don't need to do it. I have never done it in my life because I don't get the "pleading" part. It's probably just an issue of syntax like "poh-tay-toh" or "po-tah-toh". I like to say "By The Power of The Blood of Jesus I....." or "I apply The Blood of Jesus.." It probably means the same thing as pleading The Blood of Jesus. To me, it doesn't matter. All that matters is "The Blood of Jesus".

Ask Donnell: Why Can't I Stop Going Back To This Sin?

Ask Donnell: Why Can't I Stop Going Back To This Sin?

We received the following question from Josh;

"Hi Mr Donnell i am 13 years old and i wanted to ask “How do i get on track with God?” because i have been listening to secular music, watching the wrong type of movies and saying stuff i shouldn’t. How do i stop that? I've tried to stop but the addiction is hard to break how do i overcome that?"

Josh, great question. You're a brave young man. You are not alone. It's hard for anyone to admit a struggle but that's the first step to getting free. Over the years we've received and responded to questions like this one in different forms. As we've grown in The Lord we've learned more and more so today's answer to your question will be a little different to how we've approached it before. Let's see what The Bible has to say about it.

Romans 7:14-25(NLT) - So the trouble is not with the law, for it is spiritual and good. The trouble is with me, for I am all too human, a slave to sin. I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate. But if I know that what I am doing is wrong, this shows that I agree that the law is good. So I am not the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it. And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can’t. I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway. But if I do what I don’t want to do, I am not really the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it. I have discovered this principle of life—that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong. I love God’s law with all my heart. But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death?

The Apostle Paul, who wrote most of The Bible by the inspiration of The Holy Ghost knew exactly what it felt like to struggle against sinful desires. In his heart he wanted to do what was right but constantly found himself doing what was wrong. It bothered him so much that he cried out to God for help in Romans 7. I don't know about you but I thank God for this level of transparency in the scriptures. Let me quickly touch on a few of the highlights in that scripture.

First, The Apostle Paul wrote this after he became a Christian. He was not speaking from the position of a sinner but he spoke as one who knew what was right but was in a battle to live it on a daily basis. He knew who God had created him to be and understood the difference between his true identity and the sin he struggled with. He did not let the sin define him. He looked at the sinful desire as an intruder that was in his life and he wanted it gone. That's the example he set for us. With that perspective, he then offered the solution.

Romans 7:25(NLT) - Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So you see how it is: In my mind I really want to obey God’s law, but because of my sinful nature I am a slave to sin.

Our answer is in Jesus Christ. It is in Him that we find our freedom from the power of the sinful nature that tries to choke the life out of us. We cannot fight the desire for sin with our own will. We are not strong enough to resist our human nature. We have to take on the new spiritual nature of Christ. He is our victory. Apostle Paul continues to elaborate on this issue in Romans 8.

Romans 8:1-4(NLT) - So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit.

Don't feel condemned because of what you've been going through. I know it's shameful to be a Christian who struggles in any area but God does not condemn us. He presents the solution and sets us free. The power of the Spirit of God through Jesus has freed you from the power of sin. When He died on the cross He ended the grip of sin over your life. So how do you receive that freedom?

You are spirit, soul and body. Once you accept Jesus Christ as your savior, your spirit is set free. If there is any remnant of a spiritual stronghold in your life, you can go to your pastor for spiritual deliverance. He will cast out that spirit in the name of Jesus. Once you receive your spiritual deliverance there is another step that has to be taken. The struggle then becomes one with your soul (mind, will and emotions) and your body.

Your soul is where you develop habits and foster desires. It's there where the bondage to sin can still have an effect on your life even when your spirit has been made free. You have to retrain your mind to think the right way and your body to crave the right things. If you're accustomed to doing certain things it's really difficult to just stop even if you know you don't have to do it anymore. Here's my advice and take this from my heart to yours.

Matthew 18:19-21(KJV) - Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12(NKJV) - Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up. Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; But how can one be warm alone? Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Get help! You can never break a habit alone. Find someone you can trust who is strong in The Lord and ask that person to help you win this battle. God always places strong, mature Christians in our lives who have the power and the love in their hearts to fight the enemy alongside us until we win. Some people call a person like this an "Accountability Partner". This person must be stronger than you in The Lord and able to hold you up spiritually when you are down.

Ask God to show you who that person is. Let that person pray with you and encourage you to do what's right. This Christian leader should help you set and maintain physical boundaries to cut off access to those things which God will free you from. Allow that person to ask you questions and check on you regularly. Let that person speak into your life and help you to make adjustments that align with your commitment to do what's right. Never fight ungodly habits alone. You never win that way. Get someone to diagnose your problem and fight with you so that you will defeat it.

Matthew 12:43-45(KJV) - When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

The last thing we'll address today has to do with what you do after you've been delivered by God. If you do nothing the enemy returns and it will be worse the next time. Anytime you break a bad habit you cannot leave a vacuum or empty space in your life. You have to always replace bad habits with good habits. Humans are creatures of habit so if we are accustomed to something we will crave it whether it's good or bad. So you have to develop a new habit. Here are two quick ways to do that according to The Word of God.

Psalm 119:11(KJV) - Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Mark 14:38(KJV) - Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.

The Word of God and prayer must be incorporated into your daily routine. They are sources of good habits that will keep you on the right track with God. Replace your secular music with Christian music that's full of The Word of God. Go to your local Christian bookstore and stock up on anointed, Christian music of whatever genre you prefer. There's every type of Christian music available so be sure to get whatever you like.

2 Corinthians 3:17-18(NKJV) - Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Jesus said that The Word of God is truth and the truth will make you free. Develop a lifestyle of prayer and let your Accountability Partner help you with that. The more time you spend in God's face through His Word and prayer the more you become like Him. He will change your character into His image from glory to glory. You cannot change yourself but God can change you. His Spirit will set you free and keep you free.

Ask Donnell - What's God Saying To Me In These Repeated Dreams?

Ask Donnell - What's God Saying To Me In These Repeated Dreams?

We received the following question from Charlene;

"Hi Donnell, I would like to hear your views or wisdom on this. Ever so often I would dream about my feet, either I can't find my shoe or slippers or I am walking and I am bare feet. Always with my feet. In reality I would always have an issue with my feet either I don't have on comfortable shoes and can’t go or do what I should do. I figured my progress and success is in my feet, I am an Insurance Agent and you know you have to be on the go to find people all the time to maintain and have an income because it is by commissions we are paid . I figured the enemy wants to stop my progress. But as long as God is seated on the throne I declare it would not happen.

No new people no pay! So I have been watching this for sometime and thought the enemy wants me to fall down. In the past I used to fall down all the time and took it for granted that I hadn't fallen for a while yet I fell down twice a month or two ago and said I am not taking this lightly . The last fall was mind blowing: I was standing waiting for something I was buying. As soon as I got it and took out one of the pastries to take a bite I fell backwards without any indication or warning.

I was overwhelmed because I was cautious all day to watch my step and "bam!" I fell backwards. I was not expecting it so it’s as if I got ambushed. But thank God I didn't get injured just my left elbow a bit woozy but I am ok praise the Lord. But it was just so strange and bothered me so I had to tell my Apostle. This to me is not natural. What do you think? And success seems to be so tarrying but I am not giving up!"

Numbers 12:6(KJV) - And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the Lord will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.

That is some dream you've been getting. It's also very interesting what you've been going through and how it relates to the dreams. I definitely agree that you should pay special attention to repeated dreams. Obviously there is a reason why the same dream keeps coming over and over. There is something going on that you need to be fully aware of. Before we start making stuff up, let's go to The Bible for some answers.

If you study The Bible, one of the things you'll learn is that many Bible prophecies have multi-dimensional interpretations. Since there is no time or space in the spirit, when God releases a message in the spirit it can manifest on several different levels in the natural. The same can go for dreams. The following is one way to interpret your dream.

Ephesians 6:15(NLT) - For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.

In the spirit realm, shoes are an important part of our spiritual armor. They represent the peace that comes from The Word of God. Since dreams are glimpses into the spirit realm, if you repeatedly can't seem to find your shoes, your bare feet could very well be a sign that you've lost your peace.

The Bible says in Isaiah 26:3(KJV); "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." As much as your mind remains on The Word of God which is God according to John 1:1 you will have peace. If you ever get your eyes off of God and on to life's challenges you will lose your peace.

Matthew 14:28-32(KJV) - And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.

Apostle Peter's miracle lasted as long as his ability to focus on Jesus. When he kept his eyes on Jesus he could walk on water. The moment he took his eyes off Jesus and looked at the storm he started to sink. My question for you today is "Where are your eyes looking?" If you can just keep them on Jesus (The Word of God), He will miraculously guide you through any storms you're facing. If you keep looking at the storms they will overwhelm you.

John 16:33(KJV) - These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Faith is believing God's Word in spite of the situation you're facing. It's your faith that gives you peace when you believe God's Word in the midst of a storm. The Apostle Paul said in 2 Corinthians 5:7 - "For we walk by faith, not by sight:". Faith gives you spiritual eyesight which works well in dark places. When you cannot find your way in the natural, open your spiritual eyes and let God's Voice guide you.

According to James 1:5-8 ask God for wisdom to help you find new clients for your job. He will give you innovative ways to market and meet paying customers. According to 2 Timothy 1:7, rebuke the spirit of fear and accept power, love and a sound mind from The Lord. This is your season for peace but it's a different kind of peace than you might imagine. It's peace in the middle of the storm. It's cheer in the midst of tribulation. It's not based on what you see around you but what and who you know will bring you through it.

Also, frequent accidents can be major distractions that can draw your attention away from God. When you find yourself in consecutive accidents of any kind or you recognize a familiar pattern of accidents rebuke them. I can tell you exactly what I do. I declare into the air that I rebuke the spirit of accidents and curse every plan of the enemy to cause accidents in my life or the lives of those who are close to me.

In sum, today I shared with you just one dimension of interpretation of your dreams. There may be others. However, this is a good place for you to start responding to what you've been seeing. Find some specific scriptures that you can declare on a daily basis over your life to help position you for success in your career as well as protection against accidents. Additionally, resolve in your heart that you will believe The Word of God that you are standing on regardless of what things look like.

Romans 10:15(KJV) - And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Preach the gospel of peace. Your feet are blessed.

The Law Of The Spirit

The Law Of The Spirit

THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT

Romans 8:1-2(NKJV) - There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

Christianity and Judaism are governed by laws. For Christianity, it is called The Law of The Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus. In this law, we have righteousness by faith in Christ Jesus that’s manifested with works. That's why we can’t earn righteousness by our actions but we accept it through the offering of Jesus and demonstrate it by living in The Spirit. In our natural ability, we cannot please God because our original nature is sinful because of Adam. However, The Spirit of God living in us can help to develop the faith we need to live in Christ. Are you a law abiding citizen of God’s Kingdom?

If you adhere to the law you will enjoy the benefits of the life that only God can give. If you break this law in any area of your life the death that accompanies the flesh awaits. The Spirit of God is life-giving spirit who can resuscitate anything that is dead. Maybe today you are staring death in the face and you don’t know what to do. Let Him perform CPR on your dead situation by pumping your heart full of belief and then breathing His words into your mouth. As your heart beats again exhale The Word of God into your situation. With your heart you believe unto righteousness and with your mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

Meditate on Romans 8:1-9 and Romans 10:1-10
