The Power of Faith

Hebrews 11(NLT) – Faith is the common ingredient in miracles

There are no random miracles.

Every miracle requires faith.

Next Nexus: Success Or Fame?

Are success and fame one and the same? Can we assume that someone famous is also successful or are some famous people only successful at being famous? With the rise of reality television, social media and The Internet, many people can now be famous just for being famous. So is that really success? If you had to choose, would you choose success or fame? Let's discuss...

The Power of Agreement

Agreement Is The Key!

Matthew 18:18-20(KJV) - Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Today is Part Three of this week's series on Intercession. For Part Two, "Lord, Release The Spirit Of Intercession!" click here!

Agreement is key to the advancement of God's plan for His Church. First, we must be in agreement with Him and once that is complete, we can be in agreement with each other. In Acts 2, it was when they were all in one accord in one place on the Day of Pentecost that The Holy Spirit was able to move mightily among them. However, they were there in response to specific instructions from Jesus in Acts 1:4.

The Power of Agreement

John 17:20-23(NKJV) - “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

How does Jesus expect us to be one? That's a really easy question because the answer is right there in John 17:21. Jesus expects us to be one in Him. When we are one in Him we will be one with each other. We can't be one with each other if we're not one with Him. Many of us are all over the place and that's why God is calling each of us to come into His presence. He wants us to be one in Him.

When we spend time in God's presence we get to see His glory manifest in our lives. As Jesus said in John 17:22, it's His glory that fuses us together. So that's why we feel this sense of urgency to seek His face. It's the first step in the process. God is calling us to Himself so that He can release us together to the world.

It's time to seek His face. It's time to be one with Him. It's time for us to be one. It's time!

Lord, Release The Spirit Of Intercession!

Lord, Release The Spirit Of Intercession!

2 Chronicles 7:13-15(KJV) - If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.

Today is Part Two of our new series on Intercession. For Part One, "Lord, We Need Intercessors!" click here!

Release The Spirit of Intercession, Lord! Make us burn for you! Do something deep within our hearts! We are ready for you to move in our lives. The time has come for us to decrease so that you can increase in our lives. We surrender....

I don't know if you can sense what's happening right now but The Spirit of The Lord is quickening us to seek His face. He is calling His children to come before Him. Jesus said in John 10:27 that His sheep know His voice and He knows them and they follow Him. Can you hear Him calling?

Lord, Release The Spirit of Intercession

Jeremiah 3:22(NLT) - “My wayward children,” says the LORD, “come back to me, and I will heal your wayward hearts.” “Yes, we’re coming,” the people reply, “for you are the LORD our God.

God has been speaking to my heart lately and should also be speaking to yours. Are you listening? There really is no reason to delay the inevitable. When God starts drawing our hearts to Him we will have no peace until we run into His presence.

In you, Oh Lord, do I find my rest. There is no other place I rather be than in your presence. Have your way today. Have your way.... There is so much that you want to do in the earth. You can use me. If you give me the words, I will say them. If you show me the way, I will go.

Psalm 27:8(NLT) - My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.” And my heart responds, “LORD, I am coming.”

God is calling..... Respond!

Lord, We Need Intercessors!

Lord, We Need Intercessors

Luke 10:19(KJV) - Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Mark 16:17-18 says the name of Jesus gives us authority! Hebrews 10:19 says the blood of Jesus gives us access! Hebrews 4:12 says The Word of God is sharper than any two-edged sword! Acts 1:8 says The Holy Spirit gives us power! We're in the middle of a spiritual war and God has equipped us to win it so why aren't all of us fighting?

Today is Part One of our new series on Intercession. Let's go!

Ezekiel 22:30(KJV) - And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

There's nothing like standing in a place of intercession. God's heart is to do good in the lives of people but people aren't always willing or able to allow Him to do so. That's where we come in. By our prayer we can invite God into their situations. Sometimes, people are being oppressed by evil spirits right under our noses while God has called us to jump in and fight on their behalf. Sometimes, judgment is on it's way but God warns us ahead of time so that we would pray and stop it.

Lord, We Need Intercessors!

Luke 18:1(KJV) - And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

If God puts someone on your heart, pray. If God shows you something in a dream, pray. If you find out that something is going down, pray. If you are a Christian, you carry the name of Jesus and have the same authority, so pray. Don't let things just happen around you without stepping out of your flesh and waging war in The Spirit. Fight for your family. Fight for your friends. Fight for your church. Fight for your company. Fight for your city. Fight for your country.

Ephesians 6:12-18(KJV) - For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Everyday, let's be prepared to take care of The Lord's business in the spirit realm. Put on the armor of God and start praying. There are things going on in the spirit around us that grieve the heart of God. There will be no change by arguments, emotional outbursts or pleading. The change comes when we defeat the spirits behind the situations. It's time to pray. It's time. Lord, we need intercessors!

Ask Donnell: Can a Christian lose salvation?

Can A Christian Lose Salvation?

We received the following questions from Faith;

Hello- two questions, many Christians debate once saved always saved- Do you believe this? I read my bible and I know what the scrptures say- but the interpretation of the scriptures usually are debated as well. Also we will receive rewards in Heaven according to our deeds done on earth correct? So we can lose our reward and still receive salvation or receive a partial reward as well?

Faith, these are great questions. Thanks for submitting them. For the first question, I'm going to share with you some scriptures and let you make your own decision. I'm not sure how to interpret them to mean anything other than exactly what they say. Some scriptures are very abstract and can be easily misinterpreted. I doubt these fall into that category.

Hebrews 6:4-6(NLT) - For it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once enlightened—those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the power of the age to come— 6 and who then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people back to repentance; by rejecting the Son of God, they themselves are nailing him to the cross once again and holding him up to public shame.

2 Thessalonians 2:3(AMP) - Let no one deceive or beguile you in any way, for that day will not come except the apostasy comes first [unless the predicted great falling away of those who have professed to be Christians has come], and the man of lawlessness (sin) is revealed, who is the son of doom (of perdition),

2 Peter 2:19-22(NLT) - They promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves of sin and corruption. For you are a slave to whatever controls you. 20 And when people escape from the wickedness of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and then get tangled up and enslaved by sin again, they are worse off than before. 21 It would be better if they had never known the way to righteousness than to know it and then reject the command they were given to live a holy life. 22 They prove the truth of this proverb: “A dog returns to its vomit.” And another says, “A washed pig returns to the mud.”

1 Timothy 4:1(KJV) - Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

Do I believe in once saved, always saved? I could. There are several scriptures which seem to support that viewpoint. At the same time, there are others which seem not to support it. It's easy to argue back and forth about how to interpret these scriptures. However, there's nothing like personal experience. Because I have personally encountered several people who have walked away from the faith I know it is possible. The scriptures I quoted are consistent with that perspective. So, let's move on to your next question.

"Also we will receive rewards in Heaven according to our deeds done on earth correct? So we can lose our reward and still receive salvation or receive a partial reward as well?"

This question can be answered directly with the following scripture;

1 Corinthians 3:12-15(NLT) - Anyone who builds on that foundation may use a variety of materials—gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay, or straw. 13 But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person’s work has any value. 14 If the work survives, that builder will receive a reward. 15 But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builder will be saved, but like someone barely escaping through a wall of flames.

Yes, you can be saved and still lose your reward in heaven. Why? Salvation is through The Blood of Jesus which means that it has precious little to do with you. Accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior is all about what He has done for you. He did all the work and all you have to do is confess and believe in the finished work He completed on the cross according to Romans 10:9-10 and you are saved. However, the distribution of rewards is all about what you have done for Him. If what you do has value, you will be rewarded. If not, you will still be saved but you will not receive any rewards. These are two separate things.

The Outline of a Successful Life

The Anatomy of a Successful Life

This is Part 4 of this week's series on Success. For yesterday's article, "Good Success - God's Idea of Success" click here. It's based on information from my upcoming book which should be released in 2013. Let me know what you think about these small nuggets I share with you each day. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. The book is under construction so I'm trying out the new material on you first. Thanks for your input.

Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest. - Proverbs 6:6-8 KJV

Here's a snapshot of what you can expect as you read through these pages. We will begin this journey with the foundational principles of highly successful people who break barriers and shape culture. Believe it or not, what separates them from everyone else is not merely chance, unusual talent, discipline or a masterful plan.

At the core of their success is their philosophy which is how they see the world around them. Based on that philosophy they can discover their purpose or at least a cause they can align themselves with. They are then able to develop their vision which is how they see themselves changing the world. Once they have a clear vision they can focus on the development of a specific plan for implementing the change.

It is at this point that potential and accomplishment collide. Many ambitious people make plans but few know what to do with them. With a proper plan in place successful people are able to gather information, identify priorities, manage time, tap available resources and direct creative energies. In essence, they effectively work their plans.

Good Success - God's Idea of Success

Good Success

This is Part 3 of this week's series on Success. For yesterday's article, "The Definition Of Success" click here. It's based on information from my upcoming book which should be released in 2013. Let me know what you think about these small nuggets I share with you each day. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. The book is under construction so I'm trying out the new material on you first. Thanks for your input.

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. - Joshua 1:8 KJV

When success is mentioned in The Bible it is done using the term “good success”. According to The New Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of The Bible, the Hebrew word used for good success is “sakal (pronounced saw-kal')” which means “to be circumspect and hence, intelligent”. In the Young's Literal Translation, this scripture reads as follows;

the book of this law doth not depart out of thy mouth, and thou hast meditated in it by day and by night, so that thou dost observe to do according to all that is written in it, for then thou dost cause thy way to prosper, and then thou dost act wisely. - Joshua 1:8 YLT

The Bible equates success to wisdom. Good success is not assessed by favorable results alone but by the good decisions which cause the results. This key departure from the current norm is critical. It is not based in luck but reflects a true merit based system with clear criteria. It also solves a major problem with the popular result based definition of success and that's longevity.

Whether the word success is characterized as a favorable result or wealth, fame, etc. any success without wisdom is temporary. Hence, the term; “15 minutes of fame”. Over and over, people rise quickly to the top only to fall even faster. Without any consideration for due process, this type of success does not last.

There are countless horror stories of people who won the lottery, earned huge sums of money through sports and entertainment yet lost it all. The same can be said of purported businessmen who operated elaborate Ponzi schemes while projecting legitimacy. As “luck” would have it, they were eventually discovered. One day they were all hot and the next day they were not.

Here's another illustration of The Biblical perspective;

Wealth [not earned but] won in haste or unjustly or from the production of things for vain or detrimental use [such riches] will dwindle away, but he who gathers little by little will increase [his riches]. - Proverbs 13:11 AMP

Good success is another way of saying lasting success. When your climb to the top is done the right way you stay there. There is no room for hastiness, opportunism, misconduct and vanity in good success. It's not about what you can get away with on your way to the top but how much wisdom you demonstrate as you get there.

When The Bible talks about “he who gathers little by little” it refers to the individual who operates within an ordered system. This individual methodically advances toward the desired goal. In the parable of “the tortoise and the hare”, this person is the tortoise who plods along slowly but eventually passes the hare who bursts out the gate but stops exhausted on the side of the road.

This book was written with that in mind. As you read through these pages you will notice a heavy emphasis on wisdom and process. If you don't know what you're doing and you're not systematically advancing even if by chance you achieve success you won't be able to keep it.

The Definition Of Success

The Definition Of Success

This is Part 2 of this week's series on Success. For yesterday's article, "What Defines Success?" click here. It's based on information from my upcoming book which should be released in 2013. Let me know what you think about these small nuggets I share with you each day. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. The book is under construction so I'm trying out the new material on you first. Thanks for your input.

Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! - Isaiah 5:21KJV

Let's now analyze the definition of success. The Webster's New World Dictionary gives the basic definitions of success as “a favorable result” and successful as “turning out as was hoped for”. From this perspective, success is measured only by the outcome. It does not matter how the results are achieved. The process is not the priority because it is merely a means to an end.

This understanding of success is illustrated by the popular phrase “all's well that ends well”. It has so shaped Western thought that people are celebrated for achieving desired results by any means necessary. Upon this foundation of success we have built a Western society of schemers, opportunists and treasure-hunters where integrity has been shown the door in exchange for Lady Luck.

In fact, The Webster's New World Dictionary gives a second definition of success as “the gaining of wealth, fame, etc.” With that definition, it reveals the identity of probably the most popular “favorable result” in Western society. As was stated earlier, information shapes mental images which in turn shape desires. Thus, the abundant media coverage of the rich and famous has significantly molded Western society.

It's no longer uncommon for people to create false realities. For some, acceptable wealth-building strategies range from lucky pursuits like gambling to elaborate pyramid schemes and other crafty ventures. Even though it's highly improbable for these methods to consistently create wealth they definitely can. Consequently, many have chosen to follow the advice of one popular American rapper who named his wildly successful album; “Get Rich or Die Trying”.

Also, since success can be measured by fame the new secret to success in places like the United States is to be cast in hot new “reality” shows. Many of which are about as “real” as the imagination of the producers who provide elaborate scripts and contracts of non-disclosure to each cast member. What many believe is the pathway to becoming rich and famous sometimes only leads to infamy.

A system built only on achieving favorable results breeds dishonesty and a lack of integrity. People will lie, cheat or steal to get ahead as long as they can get away with it. Fortunately, The Bible teaches success from a different perspective.

Check us out tomorrow for Part 3 to read about it.

What Defines Success?

What Defines Success?

This week we begin a brand new series on Success.

Do you want to be successful? If your answer is yes, that desire is your first step in the right direction. Even so, there is a huge gap between desire and accomplishment. Desires are shaped by mental images which in turn are created by processed information. In other words, your imagination is an extension of information you have received and you can only truly desire what you can imagine.

Even though there are no tangible limits to your imagination there are perceived limits. If your exposure to information is limited, so are the building blocks of your imagination. As a result, the meaning of the word success is relative and differs greatly from person to person. What one person considers success would not work for another.

So what exactly defines success in your life? Your answer to that question is of utmost importance. It's highly unlikely that you will stumble upon success. Granted, people do sometimes find success in places where they are not looking but they're hardly successful by mistake. If you don't know your intended destination even if you stumble upon it you won't know when you get there.

Check us out tomorrow for Part 2.
