Misdirection and Distraction - Effective Tools of Deception in the Last Days

Misdirection and Distraction - Effective Tools of Deception

Colossians 2:4(NLT) - I am telling you this so no one will deceive you with well-crafted arguments.

Have you ever tried to figure out how "magicians" do their tricks? I remember walking through the streets of Manhattan, New York at night over a decade ago with some family and friends. It was late and we were a few blocks from the most active areas so I thought it strange to see a small, lively crowd quickly gathering at what seemed to be an arbitrary street corner.

As we approached the group, I noticed a man in the middle doing what I now know was a typical NY hustle. He had a makeshift table and on it he placed three cups turned upside down. Below one of the cups was a little ball which observers wagered money to locate after he moved the ball around between the cups.

"Follow the ball, follow the ball, follow the ball..." If you keep your eyes on the ball, you'll know exactly where it is. Yet, something so elementary is so much easier said that done. By moving the cups frequently and quickly especially without the actual ball, he was able to deceive his patrons with misdirection.

Eventually, they spent more time looking at the three cups than they did at the one ball which essentially led to them being fooled. Fast forward to 2016 and once again, misdirection and distraction are the tools being used to keep our eyes away from the truth. Many of us are in the middle of a typical New York hustle and we don't even know it.

Welcome to today's blog. I have heard from The Lord and can remain silent no longer. I ate the little scroll and after a minor stomach ache it's time for me to prophesy (See Revelation 10). Like the Apostle Paul said, "I am telling you this so no one will deceive you with well-crafted arguments."

Daniel 12:4(NLT) - But you, Daniel, keep this prophecy a secret; seal up the book until the time of the end, when many will rush here and there, and knowledge will increase.”

Welcome to the last days. With the advent of the printing press in 1440, thoughts and ideas could be communicated to large groups of people far and wide through books. With the advent of the radio in 1895, the same could be done audibly in real-time. With the birth of television in 1927 the ability to communicate messages through audio-visual imagery in real-time changed the world forever.

From there came 24 hour news cycles with CNN in 1980, the world wide web in 1989, the smartphone by IBM in 1992, the first social media website Six Degrees in 1997, Facebook in 2004, Twitter in 2006, the iPhone in 2007 and the rest is history. We are now at the peak of the information age with immediate access to more information than we even need.

With so much knowledge at our fingertips we should be the smartest generation in the history of mankind. Think about it. According to the Ericsson Mobility Report in the first quarter of 2016, mobile broadband subscriptions topped 3.7 billion while mobile smartphone subscriptions topped 3.4 billion worldwide. That means billions of people can know anything they want at any time by just pulling out their phones and accessing the information. So why is it that so many of us don't seem to understand some of the most basic principles that control the world we live in?

How many of us reading this right now can confidently explain exactly how our economy works and why the gap between rich and poor continues to grow. What about our political system? How are laws made or changed or more importantly what laws have been made or changed lately? What about election? Who really controls what goes on in an election campaign? What about our healthcare system? What are the driving factors behind legislation surrounding healthcare? How about answering the question, "What goes into making the food you buy? Would you still eat it if you found out?" I can go on and on.

The point I'm making is that even though an overabundance of information is a good thing, it could also lead to confusion which takes us back to the NY hustle; "Follow the ball, follow the ball, follow the ball..." The truth is the ball and the cups are the information surrounding the ball. If the hustler moves the cups around quickly and frequently enough, those who are watching the cups will lose sight of the ball.

Therefore, we can become completely obsessed with watching cups when our real focus should be on the ball. What we have playing out before our eyes is a simple case of misdirection. A free press is essential in any successful democracy so any effort to suppress information is "frowned upon in this establishment".

Therefore, instead of suppressing the truth, those who want to control the narrative drown out the truth with useless information. It's a simple approach. Don't suppress an unfavorable headline, create commentary on the headline that questions the authenticity of the information supporting it then highlight or even create a distracting event that legitimately replaces the headline with something different. It works especially when people are gullible enough to believe that the information they are receiving is impartial and if it's not, the inherent bias is easily recognizable.

For instance, many people know that money rules the mass media. Why? Advertisers pay the bills so in the end they control the content. If you don't believe that, try to get your message in the media and see how far it reaches. You will quickly find out that it reaches as far as your money does. So the answer to that dilemma for many smart people is that they don't believe what they see or hear on network television and they only trust the messages on public television and radio.

Yes, that's a step in the right direction but let's not forget who finances public radio and television. In addition to the donations of viewers and listeners like you, many of the same corporations who practically own the content on network and cable television support non-profit foundations which in-turn donate to "you guessed it" public radio and television giving them the platform to influence content.

So some smarter people have figured that out and don't believe what they see on television or hear on the radio. They get their information from The Internet. If they want to find the truth, they google it. The corporations and special interests might control mass media like television and radio but they definitely don't control The Internet.

That might be true but why don't you peruse the most visited news, commentary sites, blogs and social media accounts? What you see running on many of those pages are what we affectionately call ads. Why are there ads?

People advertise on sites that have large followings. Pay even closer attention and you will realize that sooner or later, mixed into the messages being presented even on the most thoughtful blogs is sponsored content. The same way doctors are paid by pharmaceutical companies to prescribe certain drugs to their patients, Internet celebrities are paid to mention certain products or take certain positions on issues. In other words, some free thinkers you trust to tell you how to think may not be as free as you originally thought. Nonetheless, that's not the priority of today's blog. This is...

Amos 8:11-12(AMP) - Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord God, when I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but [a famine] for hearing the words of the Lord. And [the people] shall wander from sea to sea and from the north even to the east; they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord [inquiring for and requiring it as one requires food], but shall not find it.

Whenever there's a major news event in the world we can find no shortage of commentary all over the media. Much of this commentary comes from "experts" in the issues at hand, guided of course, by media personalities whose jobs are to discuss the news and shape public perception. Not just that, with immediate access to the available information, any person can make a comment on their social media accounts or in some cases, directly below the news articles on major news websites.

So that's exactly what many of us do in The Body of Christ. We join the commentary and share our opinions with anyone who would listen. While there's a plethora of Christian commentary everywhere, especially on social media, there's a famine of The Word of Lord. When we give our opinions we essentially regurgitate the perspectives we viewed in the media that shaped our mindsets. Hence, our opinions have no power and the famine continues.

Yes, we appreciate what you think about President Obama and his wife, Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton but what is The Lord saying? It's easy to join the movement and say "Black Lives Matter" when we see disproportionate use of lethal force or "Blue Lives Matter" when someone attacks the police or "All Lives Matter" when we don't understand what's going on.

However, what is The Lord saying? People are scrolling through the channels on television, radio stations, Google searches, Twitter feeds, Facebook timelines and anywhere they can find information looking for more than just commentary and personal opinions but a Word from The Lord.

Luke 21:34-36(AMP) - But take heed to yourselves and be on your guard, lest your hearts be overburdened and depressed (weighed down) with the giddiness and headache and nausea of self-indulgence, drunkenness, and worldly worries and cares pertaining to [the business of] this life, and [lest] that day come upon you suddenly like a trap or a noose; For it will come upon all who live upon the face of the entire earth. Keep awake then and watch at all times [be discreet, attentive, and ready], praying that you may have the full strength and ability and be accounted worthy to escape all these things [taken together] that will take place, and to stand in the presence of the Son of Man.

For years, we have been fast asleep with our eyes wide open. In an age when the truth is out there for everyone, less and less seem to find it. While we're busy being entertained by sponsored media content, worrying about what's going on or dealing with the everyday stresses of our lives, important things are drastically changing around the world.

Many of which will directly affect our lives very soon. The Lord revealed that an economic boom is coming followed by the hugest economic bust we have ever seen. The oil price will go back up. The result of the upcoming US Presidential election will shock the world. There's a Muslim connection to The Antichrist that's clearly visible through the countries that support him in Daniel 11 and the way Christians will be persecuted by beheading in Revelation 20:4. Additionally, both Turkey and Russia are on the short list of countries from which The King of The North in Daniel 11 will come.

According to Reuters, Turkey responded to a failed military coup by arresting, detaining or questioning over 60,000 people, many of whom are not in the military and did not participate in the coup at all. Long before any of this took place, The Lord told us to keep our eyes on Turkey because they play a major role in the End Times as a whole and specifically the rise of The Antichrist.

We really have no idea what is going in that country right now but we are paying very close attention because we heard from The Lord. Istanbul, Turkey was once known as Constantinople, one of the capitals of the Roman Empire and then the Ottoman Empire which helped spread Islam through large portions of the world. Turkey is now a major link between the Muslim community and Europe because it borders both regions. It also has very important ties to Russia.

Among other things, The Lord showed us a secret plan that is currently underway involving Russia within The United States that very few will know about until it is too late. Since The Cold War ended many assume that military conflict between the two countries is possible but highly improbable. However, what may not be accomplished with direct military intervention can be done through subtlety. Let me explain. Airplanes, submarines, ships, missiles and all of these other tools of war are being closely watched by the US military which is the most powerful in the world.

However, while terrorist organizations have found a way to attack from the inside what is impossible to attack from the outside, countries like Russia have paid very close attention. They won't come by air or by sea with an external attack because that will not work. Like the Trojan Horse used to enter Troy they will slowly build their forces then attack from within. If you don't believe it, you will find out soon enough. Based on what The Lord has revealed, the plan is already underway.

2 Timothy 3:1-5(NLT) - You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the last days. While you were sleeping, everything changed.

2 Timothy 3:13(NLT) - But evil people and impostors will flourish. They will deceive others and will themselves be deceived.

Every time there’s a war, earthquake or other natural disaster people keep saying these are signs of the end times. If wars, famine, earthquakes and pestilences are the signs we should be looking for, the data should prove it the same way it did for the disciples.

Why Don't We Evangelize? - We Forget That Jesus Is Coming Soon

Why Don't We Evangelize? - We Forget That Jesus Is Coming Soon

Written By: Dr. Angel

Welcome to Part 11 of our current blog series; "Evangelism". Click here for Part 10, "Why Don't We Evangelize? - We Don't Think It's Our Responsibility".

The seventh reason we do don’t evangelize is that we forget that Jesus is coming soon.

Our daily lives are filled with “busyness”. There always seems to be so much to do and very little time to do it. We often put our daily routines in place, void of the remotest intention of altering them. We try to balance so many balls in the air that we could set an Guinness world record! Our time is fully committed to completing these tasks while also fulfilling our “Text/Facebook/Twitter/Instagram” responsibilities.

Our plans are unshakable, except for a moment of pseudo-silence for a “quick” prayer for God to bless them. Then we go to sleep and awake to do it all again the next day! Hummm…is this your life? Somehow in the busyness, the truth that Jesus is coming soon gets lost in our shuffle. We forget our first love and our fire to evangelize is reduced to ash.

Revelation 2:4 (NASB) – “But I have this against you, that you have left your first love.”

What if you knew a storm was coming. Would you warn your family members? If you knew a major earthquake was about to split your region, would you warn your friends? If you knew a hurricane was stirring just miles offshore would you warn every pedestrian that crossed your path? Would you be too busy to use your mouth to save a life?

My sense is that most of us would probably speak up about the coming disaster. Not only that, we would try and make every effort to prepare ourselves and those around us. Do you have the same urgency to evangelize to your family, friends, peers, co-workers, and others who cross your path about the return of Jesus? Consider this; the return of Jesus is cause for celebration for those who have accepted Him into their lives but total disaster for those who have not.

Matthew 24:21 (NLT) – “For there will be greater anguish than at any time since the world began. And it will never be so great again.”

When you look around at our world today, can you see Matthew 24 unfolding? If so, then it is time that we shift our priorities and return to sounding the trumpet about our coming King!

Matthew 24:37-39 (NKJV) - “But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.”

Hebrews 12:25-27 (ESV) - “See that you do not refuse him who is speaking. For if they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape if we reject him who warns from heaven. At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.” This phrase, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of things that are shaken—that is, things that have been made—in order that the things that cannot be shaken may remain.”

We all have daily responsibilities that we must properly balance. These responsibilities may not necessarily be bad ones; we just have to be careful that we do not allow them to consume our lives. Let’s not be like the unfaithful servant or the foolish virgins who clearly were unprepared for the Lord’s return.

Also, let’s evangelize and help others prepare as well. Jesus is coming back, just like He promised. His delayed return is not a canceled return. He ALWAYS keeps His promises. Whether you are pre-, mid-, or post-tribulation in your view of The Resurrection and return of Jesus, the material point is that Jesus IS coming back and we all need to prepare.

Matthew 24:45-51 (NLT) – “A faithful, sensible servant is one to whom the master can give the responsibility of managing his other household servants and feeding them. If the master returns and finds that the servant has done a good job, there will be a reward. I tell you the truth, the master will put that servant in charge of all he owns. But what if the servant is evil and thinks, ‘My master won’t be back for a while,’ and he begins beating the other servants, partying, and getting drunk? The master will return unannounced and unexpected, and he will cut the servant to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Matthew 25:3-13 (NKJV) – “Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. “And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.” “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.”

If we do not tell others about Christ, how will they know? Do not forget that the Lord is coming and there is much evangelism yet to be done. Today, let’s review our plans and make Jesus the priority of our hearts. Then share the good news of Jesus. Tell someone about Him so that they too can be ready.

Romans 10:14 (NLT) – “But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?”

Proverbs 19:21 (NIV) –“Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it’s the Lord’s purpose that will prevail.”

Revelation 22:12 (NASB) – “Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done.”

Ask Donnell: Will Heaven and Earth Literally Disappear At The End?

cloud

We received the following question from Jabari;

"Good morning Pastor Donnell, I was reading Mark 13 where Jesus taught his disciples what will take place in the last days and one particular scripture jumped out at me that I don’t quite yet understand. It is Mark 13:31, “Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear.” This was after Jesus told them in verses 26 &27 of Mark 13 “Then everyone will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds with great power and glory. And he will send out his angels to gather his chosen ones from all over the world —from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven”. I am unclear as to what it means by heaven and earth will disappear. Can you help?"

Wow! Jabari, you sure are eating that scroll, aren't you? You've obviously been reading your Bible. Great question. Here's the best way to clear up a scripture. Find another one that says the same thing clearer. 🙂 Before we get into that, be sure to read Chapter 7, "The Gap Theory", from my book, Faith Science. In it, I discuss Biblical prophecies that address the end of the heavens and earth as well as certain scientific theories that connect with them.

Anyway, let's get to the good stuff. At first glance, if you don't know much about Eschatology (Bible "End-time" Prophecy), it would be easy to assume that Jesus was just using the phrase, "heaven and earth will disappear" as a figure of speech. Maybe He was just trying to emphasize how impossible it is for His Word to ever pass away. Perhaps, He could have said the same thing in a different way if He was merely using it to make the point about the lasting nature of His Word. However, can what Jesus said be taken literally? Perhaps, there's more in there.

2 Peter 3:10-13(NKJV) - But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

There it is as clear as day. God intends to start over. He will destroy the heavens and the earth as we know it at the end of time and then recreate them. He will burn everything with a fire so hot that even the elements themselves will be consumed. That supports a literal interpretation of the phrase Jesus used; "heaven and earth will disappear" because they will. This outcome is consistent with at least one of the popular scientific theories predicting the end of the expanding universe.

Isaiah 66:22(NKJV) - “For as the new heavens and the new earth Which I will make shall remain before Me,” says the Lord, “So shall your descendants and your name remain.

God intends to only do this once. When He creates the new heavens and earth they will remain forever. The tainted old earth and heavens that we live in now will be a distant memory and God will press the restart button. Thankfully, there will be no more sin and the devil himself will be in the lake of fire. Nevertheless, for some more insight into the circumstances surrounding the end of the earth and heavens let's turn to my favorite book of The Bible, Revelation.

Revelation 20:11-15(NKJV) - Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

Revelation 21:1-7(NKJV) - Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.

After the one thousand year Millennium reign of Jesus Christ which follows The Resurrection, the devil will be released to tempt mankind one more time. He will lead those who remain on earth without Christ into revolt against God and they will be soundly defeated. Once that is done, God will administer The Great White Throne Judgment and send everyone who's not in Christ into The Lake of Fire to burn for eternity. It's at that point that God will destroy the heavens and earth and start over with only the people in His Kingdom. Everyone else will be in The Lake of Fire for eternity after being sentenced during The Great White Throne Judgment.

I know I threw allot of information at you there but that's the answer in a nutshell. If you want a better understanding of Bible prophecy read my book, "Revelation Unplugged". In there you will see much more about how things will end according to The Book of Revelation and other supporting scriptures.

Ask Donnell - Why Is Dan Not Sealed By God in Revelation 7?

Ask Donnell - Why Is Dan Not Sealed By God in Revelation 7?

We received the following question from Deborah;

"Hi Donnell. I have been looking at your youtube vids "living in the last days". I have a question concerning the 144,000 that were sealed of the tribes of Israel. Manasses was sealed but the tribe of Dan was not mentioned. Is there any scripture stating why he was not mentioned? I asked this also on the youtube but I think this is the most appropriate place. Thanks."

Revelation 7:1-8(NKJV) - After these things I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, on the sea, or on any tree. 2 Then I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God. And he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, 3 saying, “Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.” 4 And I heard the number of those who were sealed. One hundred and forty-four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel were sealed: 5 of the tribe of Judah twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Reuben twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Gad twelve thousand were sealed; 6 of the tribe of Asher twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Manasseh twelve thousand were sealed; 7 of the tribe of Simeon twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Levi twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Issachar twelve thousand were sealed; 8 of the tribe of Zebulun twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Joseph twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Benjamin twelve thousand were sealed.

Pay close attention to Revelation 4 which states that the 144,000 came out of ALL the tribes of Israel. So why was Dan left out? Deborah, that is a good question. It wasn't until you asked it that I noticed the tribe of Dan missing from the 144,000. Since nothing's by chance, let's see what clues exist in The Bible that can help us to understand what could possibly have happened. Let's start with some background information on Dan.

Genesis 35:22-26(NKJV) - ....Now the sons of Jacob were twelve: 23 the sons of Leah were Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn, and Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun; 24 the sons of Rachel were Joseph and Benjamin; 25 the sons of Bilhah, Rachel’s maidservant, were Dan and Naphtali; 26 and the sons of Zilpah, Leah’s maidservant, were Gad and Asher. These were the sons of Jacob who were born to him in Padan Aram.

Of Jacob's twelve sons, Dan was one of only two born to Rachel's maid, Bilhah. Did the nature of his birth play a factor in Revelation 7? The answer would be no because the tribe of Napthali, Dan's brother, who was also born to Bilhah is named among the 144,000. In addition, the tribes of Gad and Asher, children of Leah's maidservant were also included. Therefore, the tribe of Dan's removal from the list of Israel's tribes in Revelation 7 had nothing to do with the nature of his birth. Let's dig in some more.

Genesis 49:1-2, 16-18(NKJV) - And Jacob called his sons and said, “Gather together, that I may tell you what shall befall you in the last days: 2 “Gather together and hear, you sons of Jacob, And listen to Israel your father...... “Dan shall judge his people As one of the tribes of Israel. 17 Dan shall be a serpent by the way, A viper by the path, That bites the horse’s heels So that its rider shall fall backward. 18 I have waited for your salvation, O Lord!

As Jacob approached his final days he called his sons together in Genesis 49 and prophesied to them concerning what would happen in the last days. He says two interesting things that seem to contradict each other concerning his son, Dan. On one side he said that Dan would judge his people as one of the tribes of Israel but on the other, he said that Dan would become a snake in the path of people trying to pass by. Here's the first stage of the fulfillment of this prophecy.

Joshua 19:40-48(NKJV) - The seventh lot came out for the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families. 41 And the territory of their inheritance was Zorah, Eshtaol, Ir Shemesh, 42 Shaalabbin, Aijalon, Jethlah, 43 Elon, Timnah, Ekron, 44 Eltekeh, Gibbethon, Baalath, 45 Jehud, Bene Berak, Gath Rimmon, 46 Me Jarkon, and Rakkon, with the region near Joppa. 47 And the border of the children of Dan went beyond these, because the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem and took it; and they struck it with the edge of the sword, took possession of it, and dwelt in it. They called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father. 48 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families, these cities with their villages.

When the Children of Israel entered The Promised Land they divided it up into portions that were presented to each tribe. Dan didn't feel satisfied with their portion so they did a little extra by conquering a neighboring area called Leshem which they incorporated into their inheritance. They continued this pattern later on and that's how things changed for them. Read Judges 18 and you'll see where the Tribe of Dan went off the right path.

Judges 18:27-31(NKJV) - So they took the things Micah had made, and the priest who had belonged to him, and went to Laish, to a people quiet and secure; and they struck them with the edge of the sword and burned the city with fire. 28 There was no deliverer, because it was far from Sidon, and they had no ties with anyone. It was in the valley that belongs to Beth Rehob. So they rebuilt the city and dwelt there. 29 And they called the name of the city Dan, after the name of Dan their father, who was born to Israel. However, the name of the city formerly was Laish. 30 Then the children of Dan set up for themselves the carved image; and Jonathan the son of Gershom, the son of Manasseh, and his sons were priests to the tribe of Dan until the day of the captivity of the land. 31 So they set up for themselves Micah’s carved image which he made, all the time that the house of God was in Shiloh.

When the tribe of Dan conquered Micah, they took idols into the land of Laish where they settled and became idol worshippers from that day forward. This is where one dimension of the fulfillment of Jacob's prophecy of Dan being a serpent began to take shape. By opening themselves up to the devil who is described as a serpent in The Book of Revelation they became associated with a snake. They developed a reputation as idol worshippers as evidenced by a reference in Amos 8.

Amos 8:13-14(AMP) - In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst. 14 Those who swear by Ashimah or the sin of Samaria and say, By the life of your god [the golden calf], O Dan! and [swear], By the life of the way of [idolatrous] Beersheba, they shall fall and rise no more.

The god of Dan was no longer the True and Living God but a mere idol. In the end that could explain why they will be left out when God seals all the tribes of Israel. They were supposed to be included with the rest of their brethren but gave themselves to idols. Hence, even though they are technically Children of Israel 12,000 of them won't get the same protection as those within the 144,000. those who would follow the example of Dan will suffer the same fate. According to the prophet Amos, they shall fall and rise no more.

Leviticus 26:1(KJV)- Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the Lord your God.

Hebrews 6:4-6(NLT) - For it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once enlightened—those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the power of the age to come— 6 and who then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people back to repentance; by rejecting the Son of God, they themselves are nailing him to the cross once again and holding him up to public shame.

Collapse of The World's System

Collapse of The World's System

For over two years we have been studying The Book of Revelation at Coffee Shop Conversations in Atlanta, GA on a weekly basis. This week's Thursday night session marks the end of that study. Since we're focused on The Book of Revelation here's an excerpt from my book, Revelation Unplugged.

The World’s System Collapses

Revelation 18:1-3(NLT) - After all this I saw another angel come down from heaven with great authority, and the earth grew bright with his splendor. He gave a mighty shout: "Babylon is fallen—that great city is fallen! She has become a home for demons. She is a hideout for every foul spirit, a hideout for every foul vulture and every foul and dreadful animal. For all the nations have fallen because of the wine of her passionate immorality. The kings of the world have committed adultery with her. Because of her desires for extravagant luxury, the merchants of the world have grown rich."

As I said earlier, Babylon represents a system that will infiltrate the world. It will first masquerade as a religion but is nothing short of the enemy’s attempt to deceive the entire world through secularization. Hence, even though the religious aspect of it will be eventually rejected, it will mutate into the philosophies by which the One World Government operates. When the angel announces the fall of Babylon, it will signal an end to this age of human existence. By enriching those who support his system, the Antichrist will be able to gain the trust of even world leaders. This is why the angel accuses them of committing adultery with her because she helps the business people of the world get rich.

This situation is very close to manifesting itself in our generation. The financial system of this world is falling apart and the time is right for someone to rise up with a solution. The Antichrist will bring peace and prosperity in the middle of the most desperate time in human history. Hence, he will be able to portray himself as a savior worthy of respect and honor. He’ll use the gullibility of desperate human hearts to his advantage. He will be so easy to believe because he’ll fight poverty in third world nations and even bring peace to the Middle East. Nobody in history will compare to him. Once introduced, people will line up to take the mark of the beast because it will give them full access to the system. However, God’s people will reject it.

Revelation 18:4-8(NLT) - Then I heard another voice calling from heaven, "Come away from her, my people. Do not take part in her sins, or you will be punished with her. For her sins are piled as high as heaven, and God remembers her evil deeds. Do to her as she has done to others. Double her penalty for all her evil deeds. She brewed a cup of terror for others, so brew twice as much for her. She glorified herself and lived in luxury, so match it now with torment and sorrow. She boasted in her heart, 'I am queen on my throne. I am no helpless widow, and I have no reason to mourn.' Therefore, these plagues will overtake her in a single day—death and mourning and famine. She will be completely consumed by fire, for the Lord God who judges her is mighty."

God will send prophets to warn His people about this system. These messages will be available through books, radio broadcasts, magazines, television broadcasts, The Internet, calling posts, text message bulletins and any other form of communication available. As Jesus said in Matthew 24:14, “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” People will get the opportunity to make informed decisions and many will still choose the pathway of darkness. However, one day, the system will suddenly crash because it’s time will be up. The same way the stock market crashed and many national economies have already come crashing down, this mighty system will hit the ground hard.

In the Old Testament, when God was ready to bring an end to rebellion He told the righteous to get away from the wicked quickly. In Genesis 19:22, He took Lot’s family out of Sodom and Gomorrah before destroying it. In Numbers 16, He told the rest of the Children of Israel to separate themselves from Korah’s family before the earth opened up and swallowed them alive. In Genesis 18:23-25, Abraham demonstrated his understanding of God’s nature by pointing out that He would never choose to destroy the righteous with the wicked. In fact, he said that it is far from God to even consider something like that. This process of separation is also called sanctification.

In the New Testament, one proven method of sanctification is strict obedience to The Word of God. The righteous can separate themselves from the profane by following the instructions of The Bible. As a result, they can keep themselves safe from the negative judgment that will surely come on the world. Jesus said in John 17:17, “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” Paul then left this message for The Church in Ephesians 5:25-27, “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”

God wants His people to stay completely separate from the world’s system even though it looks successful. It is not in our best interest to even associate with it so the moment we are warned we need to make a clean break. I believe that we will have our own system set up with which we will be able to sustain ourselves during this time. As I said earlier in this book, if God could feed Elijah and cause Isaac’s wells to strike water in the midst of famines, He knows how to take care of His people. Now is the time for all of us to become proficient in The Kingdom of God.

Jesus said in Matthew 6:31-33, “Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” The global collapse has been scheduled and it’s just a matter of time before the great separation takes place. The righteous will find solace in the Kingdom of God and the wicked will have nowhere to run. Outside of God’s system there will be no hope and that will bring great sadness upon the earth.
